I realize I have been terribly remiss in my blogging friends, but I will summarize the first three days of Hollywood airings with the above question. There is some amazing talent that we have only been teased with. This was because of AI's fascination with this year's crazy girl, Tatiana. Out of 3 or 4 hours of television, I think almost 2 of it has been of her antics. If they don't eliminate her tomorrow night Gary has threatened not to watch. (He is lying, he could never miss Idol). Let's break down the performances quickly:
Adam Lambert draws the first position of the evening, and of all song choices he could have had, he goes with "Believe" by Cher. I love this guys voice enough that I can almost get over the Emo hair and eyeliner.
Matt Giraud is the dueling piano player, and since they are allowed to play instruments, he shows what he has got with “Georgia on my Mind”. It is a really great performance, and I am starting to get excited about some of these contestants. Oops, more Tatiana footage. Now I am crabby again.
Jamar Rogers is the first of the dynamic duo to perform and he spins "Hey There Delilah" with a little quirkiness that my husband hates, but I still see potential. Even Jamar is a little insecure about his performance afterwards.
Danny Gokey decides to work the judges over with Lee Ann Womack's "I Hope You Dance." It is a solid, heartfelt performance, if not a little manipulative for my tastes. I really do like this guy’s voice and his story, but if he starts getting all “extreme home makeover” on me, he is going to lose me quick.
Anoop Desai is up next and for whatever reason, even his bizarre song choice of "My Prerogative" works for me.
Jorge Nunez is pretty forgettable. I already forgot what he sang. It got Paula on her feet, but I am not sure that is saying much today. Everything seems to be wowing Paula.
Scott Macintyre sings a Daughtry song while accompanying himself on piano. He makes a point of reminding us that he didn’t see Paula give him a standing o.
Kendall Beard, the blond Texan from Puerto Rico starts the first of many renditions of "Before he Cheats?" I have already forgotten it.
Stevie Wright is only 16, and shows much potential on stage.
Lil Rounds is channeling Jennifer Hudson at the Grammy’s. It is great song for her, but for me it is all just a little too much.
Kristen McNamara (of the dysfunctional trio from group night) pretty much screams her Kelly Clarkson song choice. I remember her saying that she was sick, so I am trying to give her the benefit of a doubt.
Mishavonna Henson sang a song that I didn’t recognize, but I thought she sounded really different and I am intrigued.
Now we get to Tatiana Del Toro who is a complete lunatic. Now I think the powers that be at AI are trying to annoy us with this average singer who never follows instructions and after the mess of the song she sang, she spun and laughed and said she did great and felt great. That was before they put her in the room to await the final verdict.
Alexis Grace sings "Before he Cheats” and I am over it before the 4th word.
Kenny Hoffpauer sings Jason Mraz, but we are barely able to hear 4 bars of it before Ryan tells us for the 11th time that the decisions have been made final.
Jasmine Murray sings Jordin Sparks, and I am totally disappointed. I really liked this girl early on but the song doesn’t fit her voice.
Nathanial Marshall (remember the crying man yelling “this is NOT JUST YOUR DREAM”?) plays guitar and sings "Disturbia." It strangely appeals to me.
Joanna Pacitti is impressive. She spontaneously creates her own language, and not once throughout the entire song does she accidentally forget and use English. What in the world is this girl going to do when she has to memorize a new song each week?
Casey Carlson sings "Tattoo," and has memory problems as well.
Stephen Fowler actually comments that his song isn’t very hard, but even after starting over (Brook White) he can’t recall his lyrics.
Nick Mitchell keeps us hanging as to whether he will give us a serious performance or bring back his alter ego. Luckily for us, out came Norman Gentle with a bizarre but thoroughly entertaining “Gerogia”. Thank God for this guy, lest we all take this a little too seriously.
Anne Marie Boskovich is actually one of those 9 degrees of separation instances (or in this case 4). My friend Beth E has a California friend who hangs with the Boskovich’s. She is apparently as sweet as she seems on stage. She sings "I Hope You Dance," and her voice is really beautiful. I can’t help but pull for her since she is a friend of a friend of a friend.
Ju'Not Joyner sings "Hey There Delilah," really slowly. I mean, I almost nodded off.
Kaylan Loyd sings "If I Ain't Got You," and falls apart when Simon actually ends her song early.
Leneshe Young is sounds okay, but does not quite stand out the way she did in the first audition. Maybe it is because we didn’t get the 20 minute version of her back story this time.
Kai Kalama’s voice is just about shot from the lack of sleep and overuse. I am not sure I can evaluate how he did based on how fast they blew past his audition.
Michael Sarver, the oil rig guy gives a heartfelt performance. I can’t help pulling for this average Joe as he tries to give a better life to his wife and child.
After all the buildup and tension, (mainly from watching Paula try to drag that big old necklace from room to room) only one room gets eliminated. That room included Leneshe and Kaylan and Michael Castro, but nobody else I recognized. So we still have to watch Tatiana take that dreaded elevator ride to the judges tomorrow night.
Tune in tomorrow….

TATIANA MUST GO!
TATIANA MUST GO!
TATIANA MUST GO!
AGHHHHHHHHHH! SHE DRIVE ME NUTS, THE DUMB BITCH!
I cant believe they moved her out of the reject room... AI, you are killing me! She is just flat out crazy! Although it does crack me up when she keeps singing and singing(even when the judges are talking), the girl doesnt stop!
according to the LA TIMES BLOG...
"Watching Tatiana del Toro on "American Idol" is like meeting someone at a party who for a fleeting moment or two seems likable and charming but long before the end of the evening has turned into an inescapable nightmare, like the monster in a sci-fi movie. She is relentless and disloyal and endlessly destructive in the service of her only cause, which happens to be -- surprise! -- herself. She is the ex-girlfriend who won't be ignored, the sorority sister bent on destroying the sorority because, well, because she can."
Her laugh and the way she cries makes me cringe everytime! Aghhh!
